Today our MP Darryl and the Joint Select Committee on Local Authorities, Service Commissions and Statutory Authorities (Including the THA) held a public meeting with stakeholders as it convened its first public hearing with the City and Borough Corporations pursuant to its inquiry into financial oversight and financial management at municipal corporations.
Diego Martin Highway Expansion Project - Darryl Smith
On Wednesday 16th January, 2019, Dr. The Hon. Keith Rowley, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago delivered the Feature Address and turned the sod, to officially begin the construction for the Diego Martin Pedestrian Overpass/Walkover. Due to the implementation of the Diego Martin Highway Expansion Project, a pedestrian overpass was deemed necessary to reduce or eliminate pedestrian and vehicular conflicts along the Diego Martin Highway. The PURE Unit had been tasked with designing and managing the construction of a 36.5 meter span box truss pedestrian overpass. Our MP Darryl has been pushing for this since he was Chairman of DMRC. He spoke of the record infrastructure projects being done in Diego Martin Central . Including The DM Sporting Complex, 2 Community Centres, 1 Health Centre, Housing, Road Paving, T&Tec sub station upgrades, and much more to come.

Our MP The Hon. Darryl Smith contrubutes to The Joint Select Committee on Local Authorities, Service Commissions and Statutory Authorities (including the THA). The Committee is conducting an inquiry into the Efficiency and Effectiveness of the National Emergency Ambulance Service. In the conduct of an inquiry of this nature, the Committee would usually seek to engage the relevant stakeholders to obtain written and oral submissions in relation to stated inquiry objectives. In this regard, the Committee convened a public hearing on Wednesday January 9th, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. with officials of the: (1)Tobago Regional Health Authority; and (2)The Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development
