On Wednesday 16th January, 2019, Dr. The Hon. Keith Rowley, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago delivered the Feature Address and turned the sod, to officially begin the construction for the Diego Martin Pedestrian Overpass/Walkover. Due to the implementation of the Diego Martin Highway Expansion Project, a pedestrian overpass was deemed necessary to reduce or eliminate pedestrian and vehicular conflicts along the Diego Martin Highway. The PURE Unit had been  tasked with designing and managing the construction of a 36.5 meter span box truss pedestrian overpass. Our MP Darryl has been pushing for this since he was Chairman of DMRC. He spoke of the record infrastructure projects being done in Diego Martin Central . Including The DM Sporting Complex, 2 Community Centres, 1 Health Centre, Housing, Road Paving, T&Tec sub station upgrades, and much more to come.

Met Office warns of hazy conditions as Saharan Dust returns.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is warning of hazy and dusty conditions due to an influx of Saharan Dust.  However, the Met Office said in a social media update on Sunday that the conditions should be mild.  "A mild increase in Saharan dust can be expected from tomorrow. Even though it is not a significant event, persons with respiratory ailments are advised to take note." Here’s a look at today’s weather, courtesy the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service: Trinidad, Tobago and the remainder of the Lesser Antilles Fair, hazy and at times breezy conditions would be interrupted by patches of cloudiness in a few areas, during the late morning to afternoon, producing light or moderate showers. Night time will be cool with a light breeze and a few brief showers. Temperature Trinidad: 31’C (max) Tobago: 30’C (max) Seas Seas are moderate with waves up to two metres in open waters and less than one metre in sheltered areas. ...
