My concern for healthy Trinidad and Tobago
I had visited the National cricket academy in Couva to feel the pulse of the cricket administration of the country. I have ensured that players and staff members get the required medications and tests such as pre match medical and physical screening, full fitness examination, heart test, Lung function test, proper blood tests, cardiac lipid profile, cholesterol testing, kidney function, urine analysis and so on.
Dr Navi Muradali, who was then the medical consultant for Healthnet Caribbean clinics, which was the new health collaborator of the Trinidad and Tobago cricket board (TTCB).
Dr. Navi said that leaving few staffs and players with high
level of cholesterol, all other players were in good health condition under the
acceptable standers of the health criterion. Dr, Navi continued that the
players and staffs were further suggested the ways and means to adopt for
healthier lifestyle.
Although this event was organized for Red Force players yet
it was representing the whole country as it was merely a single step for the
way forward.
I have insured in
close coordination of the then former mayor of the San Fernando to look after
the health of the athletes of the country for the upcoming years by
implementation of National Health Policy.
