Inspected the cricket academy and ordered for Speedy development of cricket facilities
It was the month of November when I as a sports & youth
affairs minister, toured the Brian Lara cricket academy of Tarouba. This day
became more special, as I had been accompanied by legendary cricketer Brain
Lara. The academy was UDeCOTT Managed. It was my utmost concern for the youth
of Trinidad and Tobago that made him visit the place.
I had been also accompanied by the chairman of the UDeCOTT
Noel Garcia, executive of the UDeCOTT academy, president of Trinidad and Tobago
cricket board, executives of the ministry of sports and youth affairs,
officials of Sports Company of T&T and many other stakeholders in the field
of cricket.
Same time i, chairman of the UDeCOTT, Brian Lara, president
of Trinidad and Tobago cricket board expressed grief over pining away of the of
the academy in all these years. I as, Minister of sports and youth affairs
stressed that this was the concern of past and he has a brilliant plan for the
future of the cricket. I had further stressed that government is working hard
to get the project completed as soon as possible by speedy and focused work.
I had expressed my satisfaction over the good condition of
the infrastructure of the already existing facility by reports of different
surveys.
I was clear in his mind and firm to make the facility as
user-friendly as possible. I had advocated the proper consultation with all the
stakeholders to make the things in a way as it should be. Hence i was ensuring
the proper utilization of government resources and of hard earned money of the
taxpayers. Chairman of the UDeCOTT Noel Garcia had given an estimated timeline
of the project completion. Thanks to the concerned authorities those have to
taken responsibility for completing the project at the time.
